Quote for the start of Autumn...

In the 4th century, a Daoist set of guidelines known as the 'One Hundred and Eight Precepts of Lord Lao' laid out rules for the behaviour of priests, monks and laypersons. These are strikingly relevant today:
'You should not wantonly fell trees; You should not wantonly pick herbs and flowers; You should not throw poisonous substances into lakes, rivers, and seas; You should not dry up wet marshes; You should not disturb birds and other animals.' (From Live Well, Live Long. Teachings from the Chinese Nourishment of Life Tradition. P Deadman, 2016).

Covid-19 Latest UPDATE

Following the lifting of restrictions by the government, we are being advised by the BAcC to maintain most of our precautions. This will include the wearing of face coverings by clients and practitioners. Please let me know in advance if you are exempt so that I can prepare properly for this.

UPDATE: I still have a few spaces available for my Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatments. Due to the length of these appointments the available spaces may be limited to certain days and times. Please get in touch if you are interested.

I also have my wonderful wider treatment couch and, for those lucky clients who have already tried it out, it is so comfy! It is also the perfect size for my protective screen for facial acupuncture clients.

Local Acupuncturist and Naturopath offering Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha and Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture in Patchway, Charlton Hayes, Filton, North Bristol.

Acupuncture is amazing. It can help a huge variety of problems, from back pain and sciatica, to emotional issues, such as irritability and anxiety. It treats the whole person and not just the symptoms as it aims to find the cause. The treatment given for the same condition in several people can be very different because it can be caused for different reasons.

I became an Acupuncturist after it helped me with some issues that no one else seemed interested in or could help with. And with each treatment I wanted to know why it helped whereas other treatments had not. I come from a science background and so was constantly questioning the theories behind Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. But the longer I studied and treated clients for, the more this modality made total sense. As a member of the BAcC, there is a minimum of three years degree level training, which must include relevant western medicine including anatomy and physiology. We adhere to the BAcC codes of safe practice and professional conduct and have to comply with current health and safety legislation, with full insurance and the need for continuing professional development. There are very few side effects, and acupuncture can treat just about everyone, including children and during pregnancy.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (cosmetic acupuncture)

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a centuries old practice. It is a gentle, effective, and safe way to combat the signs of aging and erase years from your face without the risks of surgery. It is also sometimes referred to as cosmetic acupuncture.

Left: Forehead before first treatment

As a Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncturist I want to make you feel as good as you look. These amazing treatment sessions give you up to an hour and three quarters of serious pampering. They are deeply relaxing as well as an effective way of improving your overall appearance and reducing the signs of ageing and stress.

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture builds collagen, tones muscles, improves circulation, and stimulates blood flow - but it is much more than a cosmetic procedure. Acupuncture changes the energy flow within the body - if energy is not flowing freely throughout your body then your organs, muscles and lymphatic system cannot function properly, which can contribute to puffiness, bags and premature aging.

Right: Forehead after third treatment - lines are more shallow, less obvious and some are starting to disappear.

Using this Holistic approach, not only do your frown lines disappear, but you feel better overall, sleep better, have more energy and better digestion. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture stimulates facial muscle function, and the face lifts itself via the acupuncture points - returning the face to a healthier, revitalized, youthful appearance. Hair thin needles are placed in the outside of the ear to induce relaxation, and body points are used which correspond the individual’s specific needs. Once you are deeply relaxed, needles are placed on the face in acupuncture points as well as wrinkles. The effects of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture are cumulative - so a series of sessions are needed for visible, sustained results. It is recommended that a minimum of around 10 - 20 weekly treatments will be needed for acceptable results. This obviously depends on the individuals lifestyle, diet and how deep wrinkles and lines are. Once results are obtained, maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain improvements.

Although the results of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture are cumulative, they are certainly visible! The images show the results that can be achieved after just two or three sessions.

Right: Chin after third treatment. Much less puffiness, chin line is more defined.

This client's husband noticed the difference after the first treatment - his comments as she walked in the door were 'You look brighter! Where have your lines gone? What have you done?'. Even her children are wondering what's changed...
